Icestorm hits New Hampshire hard ...

On December 11, 2008, from Thursday night into Friday morning New Hampshire was hit by an ice storm that for the most part paralyzed New England. From what I saw, up to 1/4" of ice covered trees, branches and wires , adding a tremendous weight that forced many trees to topple over. Some got stuck in the power and service lines.
Altough public service crews are working day and night to restore electricity to households, many people are still with out power as I write this. My house is one of the ones still withot power and may continue to be for a week more.

Family photography captures 1 moment for charity...

I have a photo from back in Germany showing me on the day of my confirmation. I was 15 years old and looking good. That is the only picture I have of my youth.
The photo is very valuable to me, as nothing is harder to replace than yesterday.
I donated some photography work to families that cannot afford family pictures, because I realize how important it is to capture them now, as it will be different tomorrow.
Working with the Nashua Telegraph's Santa Fund, the Salvation Army located a family in need, that would appreciate what I could do to help.

A great portrait and an even better one...

This is a great portrait showing the personality and energy of the person.

Further down is the real portrait showing the personality and energy of the person in a more dramatic way.

Father & son...

Little Dana fits in the hand of his father.

Welcome to this world...

Kim and Brandon are the proud parents of little Dana and welcome the little guy to this world.

High fashion photography...

Recent high fashion photography images, taken in New York City at Go Studios.

Through the eye of a needle...

This is the inside of an eye of a needle with a human hair. Taken with a Hasselblad camera and a Zeiss lens. The same camera NASA took to the moon.
I was trying out the camera's capabilities when I shot this. The detail is amazing and the sharpnes of the lens is incredible.

Scott Larsen is a very talented young man, skilled in singing, dance and acting. His pleasant personality comes out right off the bat and you easily see the twinkle in his eyes.

He was very relaxed in front of the camera, very easy to photograph and he is on a sure footed way to stardom.

But then, just for kicks, we wanted to try something else and came up with this dramatic grimy and scary look that could easily freighten small children and maybe even some weak hearted adults as well.

But hey, it's Halloween.

Thanks Scott for being a sport.

Sky turning into heaven

This morning on my way to the C1M studio, the sky turned into heaven. As a friend of mine put it: An amazing display of beauty.
I guess, sometimes, when you were really good, you may be granted to witness such an epic sky.

The art of Nelson Perry

Today I was lucky enough to photograph Nelson Perry with his saxophone. Here is a young man well on his way to greatness. Nelson is not only super nice, but also very skilled with his music. And with a name like that, you have to be cool.

Christine Hunt, Mrs. New Hamshire 2008 reigns in the C1M studios. In preparation for her Mrs. America pageant that takes place in Tucson, AZ in September, Christine needed images to sway the judges. Of course we were happy to help. Nothing thrills us more than making a beautiful woman look even more beautiful and provide imagery that dazzles you with her riveting beauty.

Using our fashion runway segment, we photographed Mrs. New Hampshire right here in our studios for her Photogenic competition. We captured some images that really show Christine's stunning beauty.

Thank you Christine for choosing http://www.walterschnecker.com/ for your fashion and beauty photography. We will be rooting for you and hope the judges will be as mesmerized by you as we were.

Assisting a fashion photography legend ...

I just returned from yet another trip to the big apple. Assiting the legendary fashion photographer Claudio Basso in any endeavour is a great honor. Not only did I learn a lot, but this was a lot of fun to boot. Check out my fashion photography web site.

Here you can se me explaining to participants how shoot tethered directly into Adobe Lightroom.

A live talkshow allowed all participants to ask direct questions to the creative panel.
Topics discussed included the fashion industry in general and how to work with the big names in a professional manner.
